Our Instructors


Lindsay (she/her)

Lindsay started pole dancing in 2002, and has been teaching since 2005. Lindsay was the first pole dancer from Arizona to ever take part in any national or international pole competition. She loves performing around the valley and competing as often as she can. Being a pole instructor and owning a pole studio are the two most amazing aspects of Lindsay’s life, and she can’t wait to share her passion with new people everyday.


Aislyn (she/her)

When a ballet classmate asked Aislyn to try a pole class with her, Aislyn said “yes” and has been pole dancing ever since. A Louisiana native, Aislyn moved to the desert in 2023 where she grew as a pole artist at what is now Prowess-Phoenix. Since 2025, she has been teaching pole to others as well as learning fly pole. Aislyn also does lyra and teaches literature and writing at the university level.


Alex (she/her)

Alexandra, a passionate mover who loves all things strength, creativity, mobility, and flexibility. She has been  an aerial hoop and pole dance artist since 2009. She has performed for various events and competitions as well as having the opportunity to travel and live abroad. Alexandra has taught internationally in Jamaica, Panama, and Thailand. Alex loves how artistry blends with control to create visually compelling experiences. A lifelong learner, Alexandra has continued her aerial journey through training on straps, sling, and silks. She has been teaching aerial hoop, pole, fabric, and flexibility since 2012.  Alex can also teach in English or Español! But perhaps the most important thing about her is her fabulous, curly mane.

Andrea (she/they)

Andrea found pole in 2011, but didn’t turn it into a hobby until moving to AZ in 2013. Having a background in gymnastics and dance, this was the perfect sport to continue challenging and growing as an athlete. Andrea started performing in 2014 and did her first competition in 2016, the same year she started teaching. She has enjoyed growing and evolving in the industry, from tricks to choreo, pole to other apparatuses…and loves to inspire others through performing and teaching.

Angel(she/her)

Angel has been dancing and training in pole since 2020 and quickly fell in love with the unique combination of strength, artistry, and self-expression that pole offers. As an active competitor, she is constantly challenging herself to learn, grow, and push beyond her limits—both on and off the pole.
Her passion lies in helping others discover just how capable they truly are. Whether you’re working toward your first spin, climb, invert, or performance, Angel is dedicated to creating a supportive environment where students can feel sexy, strong, and empowered.
For her, there’s no better feeling than watching someone conquer something they never thought they could do. She believes every victory, big or small, deserves to be celebrated and strives to help each student build confidence, strength, and a deeper connection with themselves along the way.

AnnMarie (she/her)

AnnMarie (LilyMidnite) discovered pole dance while searching for a fun and creative way to stay active, and it quickly became a true passion. After spending a couple of years taking as many classes as she could, her dedication and enthusiasm led the studio owner to invite her to begin teaching.

Since then, she has found joy not only in the art itself, but in helping others grow. AnnMarie loves watching her students build confidence, develop strength, and achieve things they once thought impossible. Known for being patient, kind, and skilled, she creates a supportive environment where everyone feels encouraged to learn at their own pace.

Outside the studio, AnnMarie is an animal lover who enjoys thrifting and repurposing home décor, as well as making (and eating!) delicious vegan food.

Avery (she/her)

Avery discovered pole dancing in 2021 while searching for a new creative outlet. Since then, she has earned multiple medals in pole competitions and performed across the valley. While she loves exploring new apparatuses, chains have quickly become her favorite (bruises and all.) As an instructor, Avery is especially passionate about helping students grow, build confidence, and discover their own unique dance style.

Bre

Bre aka Breezy has been poling for since 2017. She fell in love with pole after her very first class. She started to compete in 2019 and has won numerous titles including gold in her category in 2020. She also enjoys listening to music, writing poetry, reading, and anything to do with ocean.

Elizabeth

Elizabeth has been dancing for almost 25 years (!!!) and took her first pole class in January 2020 in Oakland, CA. She took level 1 at Prowess Tempe in the fall of 2020 and fell in love! With the pandemic and moving and work, life got in the way, but she returned to pole in 2022 and has been going strong ever since. She loves the community she has gained at Prowess, and is excited to begin teaching and sharing her love of pole with new students! She enjoys performing pole, lollipop, and lyra all over the valley, and loves joining Prowess’s team of pole competitors every fall. If you are interested in competing, she would love to talk to you about it!

Esperanza (she/her)

Espie started taking pole classes at Prowess since 2015 at the age of 42 and immediately became obsessed. Over the years, pole has become her favorite creative outlet that has not only been challenging, but has also helped her achieve levels of confidence, flexibility, and strength. She can only hope that she can inspire anyone at any age that it’s not too late to start and still have the ability to achieve all your goals.

Geneva

Geneva started pole dancing in 2016. She truly believes that learning to pole dance teaches people how to trust and believe in their own strength and abilities. In her spare time she enjoys petting cats and eating snacks.

Hayden (he/him)

Hayden started his aerial journey at Encore JR/SR High School for the Performing Arts located Hesperia, California. There he spent his time in the circus conservatory attending the highest level class the school had to offer. Hayden graduated in 2019 with honors and awards for his exemplar circus skills. Continuing his passion in aerial arts, Hayden attended Circadium School of Contemporary Circus in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He majored in Aerial Lyra and minored in Contortion. Aside from his major and minor, Hayden was trained in a number skills ranging from ensemble/theatre work to acrobatics and intensive conditioning. Additionally, Hayden choreographed a thesis solo performance and had a lyra soloist role in Circadium’s graduating show directed by Tanya Burka. He graduated from Circadium in 2022 and was rewarded a Diploma of Circus Arts. Hayden is well-versed in aerial lyra, aerial silks, contortion, choreography, and ensemble work.

Inga (she/her)

Inga has a background in classic Russian Ballet. She is also a life-long yoga disciple. Inga fell in love with pole dance in 2014 and it led her to try lyra, trapeze and sling in 2016. Inga has a passion for choreography and very much enjoys teaching lyra, sling and flexibility classes since 2021. She loves seeing her students grow in strength and flexibility and learn aerial skills. Inga travels a lot and her goal is to visit an aerial studio in every country in the world. Outside of her love for all things movement Inga has a degree in holistic health and nutrition and helps people reach their health goals.

Lexii

Lexii began pole dancing in 2019 on her home pole and instantly knew she found a life long hobby. For years she self taught in solitude nervous to ever show her art outside those 4 walls. In 2023, a gentle push encouraged her to go to a pole class and that’s where she found Prowess-Tempe.

It was then, she realized how much value and joy she found in being a student in a class setting. Lexii loved the ability to ask questions, have a spot in new tricks and the encouraging community that fills the space. Her home pole is now collecting dust as she primarily trains in studio now. In 2024 she began to feel confident enough to begin performing and has since danced in burlesque, many pole competitions and studio showcases.

Outside of pole dancing, Lexii is a hairstylist and color educator, has a son that keeps her very busy and a small chihuahua named Petunia.

Madi A (she/her)

Madi has been pole dancing for 4 years but movement has been in her life for over 10 years. Her background includes experience in Contemporary, Jazz, Ballet and Latin dance. Madi is so passionate about ensuring every student finds their style and joy in class!

Madi D (she/her)

Life long fitness enthusiast turned circus fanatic, Madi discovered aerial arts in 2018. She is an Arizona based performer and instructor, specializing in metal apparatuses. She trains and coaches in various cities/states, practicing multiple movement disciplines with a variety of studios and instructors. Madi strives to help students find new and intuitive ways to move that speaks to each individuals personal needs and aspirations!

Maze (she/they)

Maze began dancing in 2003, and is trained in a variety of styles including pointe, tap, hip hop, and more. They added Aerial to their repertoire in 2021 starting with pole dancing followed by lyra, lollipop, silks, chains, etc.. Maren has had the privilege to perform at Carnegie Hall, the Olympic stadium in Tokyo, Japan, Disneyland, and for various events/performances around the valley. Maren strives to teach students how to move like the best version of themselves and not a copy of someone else! Maren’s crowning achievement is being featured as Guy Fieri, in the style of Bob Ross, in the prowess bathroom!

Penny (she/her)

With a lifelong passion for all things different and creative, including participation in the Las Vegas Renaissance Festival; Penny grew up learning Egyptian belly dance,  English country dance, juggling, archery, flexibility and yoga in her early years. After a hip injury in her late teens, she started focusing more on strength training and joint stability to recover and prevent further injuries from hypermobility/subluxation. In 2011 with a passion for how the human body works, she pursued a 1,000 hour medical massage therapist degree with a focus in kinesiology, myotherapy, myofascial and sports injury/recovery. In her spare time she was often found lifting at the gym. Penny had been interested in pole and aerial for years but never found the right home. In 2024 she found Prowess with the help of a friend who didn’t want to go to her first class alone, and has never looked back. Even in her short time in the Prowess family, her abilities have been nourished by everyone.

Rebella Risque’ (she/her)

Rebella Risqué is a gold medal-winning pole dancer who has embraced her love for the art of burlesque! Training in aerial and burlesque since 2014, she is excited to share everything that she has learned with the next generation of dancers. Her flirtatious performance style is impossible to not fall in love with from the second she steps on stage.

Ren

After 30 years of dancing just for fun in the living room, Ren found pole dancing in 2022. She had no prior formal dance training, signed up for an intro course just out of curiosity, immediately fell in love with the sport, and the rest is history. She has since competed in PSO and performed in various showcases around the Valley. Pole dance has brought an incredible amount of joy, healing, confidence, and a sense of community to Ren’s life and she is excited to share this joy with others as she begins to teach in 2026. When she’s not twirling around the pole or at her day job, she is probably lifting weights, hiking with her husband, doting over their cats, practicing yoga, or watching some stand-up comedy. She can also teach you how to moonwalk if you’re interested. 

Sadie (she/her)

A lifelong athlete, weight lifter and yoga enthusiast, Sadie has always been deeply aware about the healing power of sports and movement. When Sadie started with pole and aerial in 2023, she was immediately obsessed, it felt like a natural next step in her evolution as a movement as therapy fanatic. Since then, Sadie has fervently committed to training as well as teaching pole as movement therapy. She has traveled the world to learn from pole legends who share her ideals, and she relishes in bringing what she learns back to her students at home. In her classes, she strives to teach athleticism along with intentional flow and musicality, as a means of boosting a students confidence to find their flow outside of class. She hopes that this will in turn boost the students confidence and sense of healing in every day life, just as pole has done for her.

Sophia

Sophia has a background in dance and yoga and has always loved movement that connects strength with creativity. She took her first intro to pole class at Prowess in 2025 and left feeling confident it was something she wanted to keep coming back to. She is currently studying dietetics and is passionate about wellness and mindful movement.

Sophia hopes to create a welcoming and fun space in her classes where students can feel comfortable and confident to try new things and explore movement through music. When she’s not in the studio, Sophia can usually be found baking cakes for her home bakery or dancing around her room to her favorite 2010s throwbacks!

Tawnya (she/her)

Tawnya has been training and performing in the aerial world since 2008, and has been teaching since 2011. She began her journey as a pole artist, before transitioning to lyra and sling in almost any form you can think of. She’s performed for corporate events, creative shows, and talent competitions. She’s an event manager, and is a skilled seamstress/costume creator. She is also a rigging enthusiast and has completed courses on the subject matter.

Teeka (she/her)

Teeka started pole dancing in 2021 and started teaching in 2022. She loves being there when students first launch their pole journey. You know it’s a Teeka class by the high energy rock and alt-pop playlist, the southern charm, and playful communal energy.

Teryn (she/her)

Teryn began her pole dancing journey in 2023 at Prowess, where she quickly fell in love with the strength, beauty, and art of pole dancing. Since starting to teach in 2025, she has been passionate about helping others develop their own unique style, confidence, and skills in a safe and comfortable environment. Teryn also loves to bring a sense of humor into her teaching, keeping things light, fun, and full of good vibes!

Thaiese (she/her)

Thaiese began her pole journey in 2010, having grown tired of regular fitness classes and seeking something new. After attending a friend’s pole party at a local studio, she was instantly hooked! Not long after becoming a student, Thaiese started teaching at the same studio in Tucson, Arizona. She later moved to Portland, Oregon, where she continued both taking and teaching pole classes. Now, Thaiese calls Prowess her home studio, where she aims to inspire and support students on their own pole journeys, make new friends, and have lots of fun along the way.

Tina (she/her)

Tina began pole dancing in 2012 and immediately fell in love with the freedom of self-expression that it allows. Tina began teaching in 2012, beginning first with group fitness classes and pole in 2014. Tina is also certified as a Pilates teacher. Tina loves the athleticism and strength,  grace and sensuality, that pole dance affords.

Yelena(she/her)

Yelena (she/her) is a certified contortion instructor who began contortion and pole dancing as an adult with no dance or flexibility background. Wanting to assist other adults just starting their flexibility journey, Yelena received her certification in the Flexible Body Arts levels 1-3 through world renowned Mongolian contortionist Ogi-Otgo Waller where Yelena specialized in teaching absolute beginner adults. Whether you’re more advanced and looking to set time aside to stretch or are just starting out, Yelena’s classes are accessible to all.
